Reverend Charles Wei
The Rev. Charles Wei is an authorized minister in the United Church of Christ. He has a bachelor degree in Business Administration from California Lutheran University, and earned his Master of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Spirituality from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Baptized as an infant at First Presbyterian Church, in Oxnard, CA, he grew up in the church, and his parents brought him and his siblings to church every Sunday. He spent his formative years with the youth group there, and having fond memories of being part of that youth group, he spent 10 years in youth ministry with various churches, including First Presbyterian Church in Oxnard, Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfax, CA, and Sleepy Hollow Presbyterian Church in San Anselmo, CA. During his time as a youth minister, he helped the youth to explore their spirituality, grow in their creativity, and learn how to put their faith into practice in the world by guiding them to volunteer with hunger, environmental, and social justice programs. He believes that the church should be an open and welcoming place for everyone, that the people of the church should feel empowered to work for justice and to share God’s love with the world, and that the church should be a place of healing, reconciliation, and renewal. Pastor Charles is a writer, an artist, a game designer, loves to cook, and has an unending passion for stories.
